Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony Date Change

Dear Families of DVD Seniors,

We are writing to inform you that our plans for graduation have changed. Instead of having 6 micro-graduations, we are shifting to one outdoor celebration on Tuesday, June 8th at 4pm. We acknowledge that many of you have made plans for the dates and times you previously signed up for, and we apologize for the inconvenience. As the guidelines around events and Covid-19 have changed, we have been able to arrange one culminating outdoor event that will be an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the entire Class of 2021 on their special day. This event will require that all guests are pre-registered. Each graduate will be permitted to bring four guests. At this time, we do not anticipate that any family will be able to bring more than 4 guests. We are grateful for your flexibility and patience during this time, and we look forward to celebrating all of the Class of 2021 together on Tuesday, June 8th at 4pm.

Week 33 – New Schedule beginning May 4th

Greetings DVD Families,

We are excited to see many of our students coming back to campus on Tuesday, May 4th. As a reminder, please review the schedule below as this is a change from our previous schedule. Please note that our start time has changed from 9:30 to 9:00 am.

Week 33 2021

Emails were sent out to families of students who chose to return to campus, on Wednesday, April 28th informing them of whether their student(s) would be coming to campus on Tuesday and Wednesdays as part of Cohort 1 or Thursdays and Fridays as part of Cohort 2. Families of students who chose to continue with distance learning were also informed via email. All students will be attending Advisory remotely on Mondays. Students will not have classes on Monday, May 3rd as our staff will be participating in professional development.

For students who are part of Cohorts 1 and 2, please review the following information prior to returning to campus:

Students should arrive to campus at 8:40, which is 20 minutes before classes are scheduled to begin. Students must have completed this Health Screening Link before their arrival, and they will have their temperature taken prior to entering the building. Students whose temperature is above 100 degrees will not be permitted to enter the building. After the last scheduled class ends at 12:20, students will be required to leave the campus to walk home or be picked up. On their way out of the building, students will have the opportunity to take a “grab & go” lunch at no cost.

When coming to campus for in-person instruction, students should wear a face covering and bring a water bottle, a Chromebook if they checked one out from the school, a charger, headphones and other standard classroom supplies such as pencils, notebooks, etc. In preparation for our return, we encourage you to review our COVID Parent and Student Handbook with your student and let us know if you have any questions.

It has been a challenging year, to say the least, and it would only be appropriate that we take some time to thank our wonderful teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week! Teachers, thank you for everything you do for your students. You are greatly appreciated!

Take care,

Veronica

Week 32 Schedule

Week 32 2021

As a reminder, because health and safety conditions have improved considerably and many of our teachers and families have received vaccinations, we are excited to share that we are planning to bring students back for 2 days per week of in-person learning beginning May 4, 2021.

We are asking all families to complete this Intent to Return RSVP Form for each child so we can determine how many students will be returning to campus for in-class instruction. All Da Vinci schools will continue to offer a full-time distance learning option for those who wish to remain in remote learning for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. Students who return to campus for in-person instruction will be divided into two cohorts alphabetically by last name in order to keep siblings on the same schedule.

Please complete this intent to return form for each child enrolled at Da Vinci by Monday, April 26th at 8:00pm. We will be reaching out to all families by April 28 to share your child’s new hybrid schedule if this is the option you select.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

  • 4/28: Families notified of Cohort 1/2
  • 5/3: Professional Development Day – NO SCHOOL
  • 5/3-5/7: Teacher Appreciation Week
  • 5/4: Hybrid Instruction begins – New Schedule
  • 5/7: CTE Advisory Board Meeting

Reopening Update: New Schedule beginning May 4, 2021

Dear DVD Families,

Yesterday, you should have received an email from Dr. Wunder explaining that the Da Vinci Board of Trustees has given direction to our school leaders to increase the number of students and instructional opportunities on campus in a hybrid instructional model. Because health and safety conditions have improved considerably and many of our teachers and families have received vaccinations, we are excited to share that we are planning to bring students back for 2 days per week of in-person learning beginning May 4, 2021.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and support of our school as we work together to bring our students back to school safely!

Sincerely,

Veronica Rodriguez

Sinceramente,

Veronica Rodriguez
