El Camino College financial aid representatives will be on campus assisting families with filling out the FAFSA. Come and leave having submitted your FAFSA!
When: December 11th from 5:00pm-6:30pm
Where: DVD – Patrick’s room (4107)
In order to fully submit the FAFSA, you must apply for an FSA ID first, and will need it to clear with the government. You can do that now at: https://fsaid.ed.gov and come to the workshop with this information and the FSA ID cleared.
Please arrive by 5:00 in order to get the most help and submit it by 6:30pm.

Dear Da Vinci Design Junior Families and Students,
From the end of November and through December, college counselors will be holding small family meetings with junior families and students from their caseloads. In these meetings, counselors will discuss:
How to build your college list
College entrance exams (SAT/ACT) and test prep
What to expect for 12th grade
Important college admission requirements
What to expect for life after high school
And much more! Individual questions will also be answered during this time
Families, sign-up to meet with your counselor via the provided link (make sure to sign up with your student’s appropriate college counselor) It is expected that all students sign up for a family meeting.
Designers, are you looking for a way to earn more service hours? You can participate in the Canned Food Drive run by our National Honor Society. You can earn a maximum of 2 hours. See the flyer below for more details.
El Camino College will be hosting a festive and informative open house on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Stop by anytime between 5:30-8:30 p.m. and join ECC as they invite students to the El Camino College campus. The event will feature various information sessions, a resource fair, twilight campus tours, and all-around fun for students and parents alike.

Week 13 brings our fall Exhibition and we are so excited to see all of your amazing work in our new space! This is the last week of school before your Thanksgiving break. Students and parents will be able to check out the other floors on campus during Exhibition night.
Seniors have their DTLA Urban Hike field trip on Friday 11/17. Riordan SBI applications for 9th and 10th graders are also due on Friday 11/17 (see previous post for more details).
The Riordan Programs’ Saturday Business Institute will be accepting applications for their program. SBI provides first-year high school students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and begin to navigate the college application process.
The program includes:
Four Saturday sessions at the school site
College Action Plan and financial aid counseling
Professional development workshops, including essay writing, resume writing, interviewing techniques, public speaking
Career exploration workshops
Applications will be available in the Counseling Corner and will be due Friday, Nov. 17th. Please return completed application in the drop box also located in the Counseling Corner.
