In the fall, DVD 10th graders took a practice ACT exam and today, DVD 9th and 11th graders did the same.

All practice ACT test results will be distributed in the following ways:

• Grade 9 – Parent Night on Thursday, 1/26 from 5 pm – 6 pm
• Grade 10 – During small group family meetings set up by the counselors (beginning early February)
• Grade 11 – Parent Night on Thursday, 1/26 from 5 pm – 6 pm

If families are unable to attend these meetings, the test results will be passed out by counselors or Advisory teachers during school at a later date.

Next year’s spring musical is going to be…GREASE!!! Auditions will take place during the first week that you come back after winter break. If you are interested in participating, text @dvgrease to 81010. We’ll send you all the info there.

Families – please join us tomorrow evening for a presentation from UCLA about test anxiety and preparation aimed at helping students get in the right mindset for their Presentations of Learning (POLs).

The presentation will be held in the classroom of Da Vinci Communications teacher Adam Eynon, room 101 (on the DVC campus).

The presentation start time is 5:45pm. We hope to see you there!

Recently in Advisory over 200 students received 2015-16 Academic Awards for Honor Roll (GPA of 3.0-3.49), Principal’s List (GPA of 3.5-3.99), Superior Achievement (GPA of 4.0+) and California Scholarship Federation.

DVD is blessed to have a professional photographer, Stacee Lianna, who captures our students’ work at DVD throughout the year, and now she is helping DVD with a special offer: your purchase of your students’ photos is deducted against the cost of her being our school’s professional photographer for the year – which makes this pretty much the best fundraiser EVER. You can help support DVD by purchasing pictures of your OWN KID! It’s a win-win!

The students are in the folder of their Advisory teacher, and the password to the folder is the name of their advisory teacher (case sensitive) with the room number of their classroom (for example, “Martin202”).
