Last month, counselors presented on various topics in all 11th grade English classes. Students, take time this summer to think about your future plans. There are many options for post-secondary plans, including community college, 4-year universities, trade schools, work, and/or military. The Fall 2022 Dual Enrollment Classes have been approved! The following courses will be offered:
BUS 101- Intro To Business (formally known as BUS 25)

M/W 3:00-4:25 (Live Online/Synchronous)
We ask that all Dual Enrollment forms be submitted to your counselor by next Tuesday, June 7th.
Just a reminder, if your student enrolled for the Dual Enrollment classes with El Camino College in Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 they DO NOT need to reapply for El Camino College, they only need to submit a Dual Enrollment form. If it is your first time enrolling in Dual Enrollment classes, you do need to complete an El Camino College application as well as the Dual Enrollment form.
Also, please make sure the 7-digit ECC ID # listed on the Dual Enrollment form is all numbers and no letters. The CCC ID is not the same ID as the ECC ID.

We need your help. We will be hosting March Madness activities during the week of March 14. We would like 30 parents to sign up to share their career and work experiences with our Juniors and Seniors on Monday, March 14th from 10:15 am to 11:00am. We are looking for all careers. El Camino College has added another asynchronous class for Spring 2022! They are now offering Business 25 – Intro to business, along with Psychology 101 – General Psychology, to rising Juniors and Seniors at DVD. These classes are completely free and will be held virtually on Canvas, the El Camino College student portal.
The deadline to apply is tomorrow February 10 by 12pm!

Sandpipers has provided financial assistance to college-bound students since 1941 and is the oldest continuing aid program in the South Bay. Supporting more than 50 students per year, the program is unique in funding qualified recipients throughout the four continuous years of their undergraduate studies. High school seniors living in the South Bay (both citizens and eligible non-citizens as defined by the U.S. Department of Education) are eligible to apply for a Sandpipers Scholarship for the 2022-23 school year. Detailed eligibility requirements are stated below.

Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
Permanent resident of the South Bay area of Southern California (roughly bounded by the 105 and 110 freeways)
Students residing outside the South Bay area are eligible if they attend a high school in the defined South Bay area
The California State University, University of California and Association of Independent California College and Universities are partnering together to provide virtual college fairs this October. All UC and CSU campuses, and a majority of independent colleges and universities from the AICCU, will participate.
All events are free, and students are encouraged to attend and explore these colleges and universities!
