Happy November! As we head into a new month, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible school spirit, learning experiences, and community connections from this past week!

A huge shoutout to our amazing DVD Leadership students for organizing such a fantastic Spirit Week and Halloween Costume Event! From the creative costumes to the school spirit throughout the week, it was wonderful to see our students and staff come together, have fun, and celebrate our DVD community.
Thank you to our Leadership students for the time, creativity, and energy you put into making these events so memorable. Your hard work does not go unnoticed!
9th Grade Takes on Olvera Street!
Our 9th graders enjoyed a fantastic field trip to Olvera Street in Los Angeles last week! What a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore the rich history and culture of Los Angeles while taking their learning beyond the classroom.
And to make the experience even more memorable, our students had the exciting opportunity to meet the Mayor of Los Angeles! What a special moment for our 9th graders!
A huge thank you to Mr. Armas for organizing this incredible experience and to our entire 9th Grade Team for helping make the day such a success! We appreciate the time, planning, and dedication that go into creating meaningful learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Career Learning Day
We hope all of our students had a wonderful Career Learning Day (CLD) last Friday! CLD provides an opportunity for students to step outside their regular classroom routines, explore their interests, build connections, and engage in meaningful learning experiences. We hope everyone enjoyed the day and made some great memories along the way!
Thanksgiving Baskets: Showing Our Appreciation!
As we approach Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who make Da Vinci Design such a special place. From our teachers and counselors to our paraeducators, custodial team, and front office staff, each person plays an important role in supporting our students and school community.
To show our appreciation, we are organizing Thanksgiving Baskets for our DVD staff! Each staff member will receive a basket filled with treats and heartfelt messages of gratitude from students and families.

How Can You Contribute?
1. Donate Treats and Goodies
Beginning Monday, November 2, families are invited to contribute non-perishable items, including:
Individually wrapped popcorn, gummies, trail mix, chips, pretzels, candy, or cookies
Hot chocolate, coffee drinks, tea, or sparkling water
Small gift cards ($5 to Target, Starbucks, etc.)
Other non-perishable snacks and treats
Donation Deadline: Wednesday, November 18
Donations can be dropped off in the collection box located in the first-floor front office.
2. Share Words of Appreciation
Sometimes the most meaningful gift is simply a few kind words!
We encourage students and families to write a note of gratitude, encouragement, or appreciation for our wonderful staff members.
You can submit a digital message using the link below:
All digital messages will be printed and included in the Thanksgiving baskets. Handwritten notes can also be dropped off at the front office by Monday, November 16.
Whether it’s a favorite teacher, a counselor who has offered support, or a staff member who makes your student smile, this is a wonderful opportunity to let them know how much they are appreciated.

Looking Ahead: November 2–6
Monday, November 2 – Professional Development Day
There will be no school for students on Monday as our teachers participate in professional development and dedicate time to collaboration, planning, and strengthening instructional practices. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday!
Wednesday, November 4 – Chat with Admin at 5:00 PM
Join us for our Chat with Admin this Wednesday at 5:00 PM! This is a great opportunity for families to connect with DVD administration, ask questions, share feedback, and stay informed about what’s happening on campus. We hope to see you there!
