Please see two exciting opportunities below related to automotive technology and aviation:
Automotive Technology Career Pathway with El Camino College
El Camino College is offering high school students the opportunity to participate in their automotive technology career pathway. There is a shortage of auto mechanics who are trained to work on Electric and Hybrid vehicles. Opportunities to become trained in this field can lead to a high-growth and high-wage career. Students are also encouraged to speak with their counselors to determine their eligibility.
Sling Pilot Academy is offering a Commercial Drone Pilot Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for students who are interested in aviation careers. Commercial drone pilots are professionals who operate drones for private businesses or local and federal government agencies. Drone pilots can use their skills to collect information and imagery. To apply click here.
Selection Criteria:
-Ability to start the course soon and finish before March 1, 2024
-Interested in aviation and possibly a career with either drones or as a Commercial Pilot
-Preferably in High School or recently-graduated (not essential)
-From the local area
-Students from rural areas or disadvantaged circumstances to be represented
-Ethnic minorities to be represented
Prerequisites:
Minimum age: 16
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language
