Da Vinci schools partners with Parchment: Digital Credential Services.
Parchment provides you with the ability to request your final official transcripts online and have them sent electronically and securely to the colleges, universities, or scholarship programs that you select. An email with your registration code and instructions on how to create your online account with Parchment has already been sent to your DVD email. Once you create your account, you will have the opportunity to request your official high school transcript be sent to the college you select. After you make your request, your official (and final) high school transcript will be processed once your final semester grades have been added into PowerSchool. When your request has been processed, you will receive an email confirmation.

Multi-Cultural Exhibition Fair
Hello Designers!
This week we celebrated the diversity on our campus with our Multi-Cultural Exhibition Fair hosted by the Diversity Council in partnership with BSU leaders, LatinX leaders and Pride Club leaders. Thank you to our students and staff who brought items to display that represent their culture. Great way to end the year! We are better together for sure!

DVD Decision Day 2022
Today we celebrated our Seniors for College Decision Day 2022. Some of the schools our Seniors have committed to include: Berklee College of Music, UCLA, UC Irvine, Pratt, LMU, PACE University, San Diego State, CSUF, CSULB, CSUDH, Otis College or Art & Design, Morehouse, Spelman, Prairie View A&M, The Arts University of Bournemouth, University of Oregon, Santa Monica College, West Los Angeles College, El Camino College, Universal Technical Institute and DVX.

March Madness College and Career
Hello Designers,
This week we celebrated March Madness College and Career. On Monday all students participated in 3 rounds of College Kahoot, One Hand Cup Stacking and Trasketball. Alumni Sydney Richardson c/o 2021, David Lopez c/o 2018, Alfonso Gonzalez c/o 2018, DeMondre Biddle c/o 2019, Sevilla Hawthorne c/o 2020, Rachel Mitsch c/o 2015, Ariana Castenada c/o 2016, Cora Cuevas c/o 2016, Leah Gilner c/o 2018, Arcie Galvan c/o 2018 and Danitza Aguilar c/o 2018 helped to crown our 4 Swag Bags. The winners were Noah Gilner, Natalia Torres, Amanda Walker and Nayeli Ortiz. On Tuesday our alumni returned to participate in a college and career share out with industry professionals during advisory classes. Thank you to the following industry professionals for taking the time to share valuable information with our students: Luis Renteria – LA County Dept of Public Health; Amber Baker – Kaiser Permanente; Anjuli Koentopp – Grades of Green; Sam Blake – Grades of Green; Bryant Lin – NinetyeightLA; Heidi Marks – Social Worker; Susana Franco-Rogan – City Planner; and Professor Rosalynde Loo – Loyola Marymount University. Our alumni also voted on the best decorated advisory college doors — the winners were 10th grade advisory with Ms. Wood (Spanish 2), 12th grade advisory with Mr. Taylor (College and Career Readiness), 11th grade advisory with Ms. Cari (Art & Design) and 9th grade advisory with Mr. Placencia (Biology). Happy National School Counseling Week — School Counseling: Better Together
National School Counseling Week 2022, “School Counseling: Better Together,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 7–11, 2022, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
The special week honoring school counselors provides recognition for school counselors who implement comprehensive school counseling programs, a vital part of the educational process for all students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Dual Enrollment Spring Semester
Who: Rising Juniors and Seniors from DVC, DVD, and DVS
What: College courses at Da Vinci, through El Camino College. Courses meet transfer requirements for all Cal State and U.C. campuses, as well as most private colleges and universities.
Why: Get a start on your college credits! It looks great on your college applications.
Cost: Free! The state of California and Da Vinci Schools pick up the costs, including textbook fees. Donations to help cover the cost of the textbooks from families that can are appreciated.
Where: Classes will be held virtually on the El Camino College student portal due to COVID-19.
If you are interested, make sure you apply to El Camino College Spring 2022 term and turn in the attached completed dual enrollment form with your student ID number and/or the application confirmation number to your school counselor by Thursday December 16th, 2021 by 12:00pm. Classes start on Tuesday February 15th, 2022. To be eligible to take a dual enrollment class, the student will need to pass all their academic classes, have no credit recovery for a-g classes, and be a rising senior or junior student. Space is limited and we are accepting forms on a first come first serve basis!

This is a quick announcement to let you all know that we have some virtual college rep visits lined up for you!
Who: Seniors
Please look below for a quick glance at some of the colleges and universities that will be visiting Design virtually and in-person! Majority of visits will be virtual. Students can register for these visits via their Naviance homepage, on the day of the event students will report to the College and Career Readiness Class – Room 4304 at lunch. The visits that are in-person will show when you register on Naviance.

HBCU – Spelman College info session in Los Angeles

Spelman College is a private, historically black, all female, liberal arts college located in Atlanta, Georgia. Spelman was founded in 1881 and a most highly competitive college.
They are having a preview session here in Los Angeles.
