Reminder to WDV Student Athletes: Regarding Early Dismissal for Games/Meets
We are proud of the commitment you make as student-athletes. Participating in athletics is a privilege and an opportunity to represent yourself, your team, our school, and our organization with pride. We appreciate the dedication it takes to balance academics and athletics, and we want to support your success in both.
To help maintain consistency and fairness, the front office and school staff follow official dismissal directives from the Athletics Department for games, meets, and athletic events. These dismissal times are thoughtfully determined to protect instructional time while ensuring you arrive prepared for competition.
Please remain in class until your approved dismissal time. Leaving class earlier than authorized creates confusion and disrupts expectations across campus.
If a student-athlete leaves class before the approved dismissal time, the incident will be reported to the Athletics Department and will receive follow-up actions from the department, coach, and/or team leadership.
Our goal is not punishment, but accountability and growth. By following these expectations, you help strengthen trust, demonstrate responsibility, and represent our athletic programs in a positive way. Thank you for your cooperation and for continuing to show what it means to be a student-athlete.
We hope you are enjoying a great 3-Day Weekend! We will see you back bright and early Tuesday morning. Please see below for the Bell Schedule and the Upcoming Events.

We see you and want to encourage continued success on your POLs! Design Families, you would be proud of what your students are accomplishing! We are still going strong. Tomorrow’s schedule Period 3 POLs (Friday) is 8:40am-1:45pm. No late start!
We continue with POLs next week with early dismissal. For any families that want to still contribute snacks for the staff, here is the link. Thank you to the families that have given snacks already! We greatly appreciate it.
While our students are preparing and presenting the learning they’ve achieved over the semester, our teachers are hard at work viewing and scoring those presentations. For teachers, this also means long, 8 hour days being a part of panels.
One way that we show appreciation for our teachers during these long days is keeping them fed and caffeinated. And we would love your help!
If you would like to donate snacks like breakfast treats and coffee to our teachers, please use the sign-up below to tell us what you will be dropping off.

Make sure students get good sleep the night before POLs
Make sure students have time and space to work on POLs at home; students may not have time to work during presentation
Have them practice at home
Remind students they must have work completed prior to their presentation
POLs give students the opportunity to develop their speaking and presentation skills and are an opportunity for students to reflect publicly on their learning. Because these are formal presentations, students are expected to wear professional attire. Any student with questions or needs regarding professional attire should speak to their counselor ASAP.
We are excited to see the students share all their knowledge with their classmates and their teachers. Students, you got this!
