Free and Reduced Meal Applications Are Due Now

eat wellAttn: Da Vinci Parents and Guardians,

Many of you have not completed a Meal Application. Our goal is for 100% of families to complete a Meal Application by Oct. 31. For each additional child who is eligible for free/reduced-price meals, Da Vinci receives close to $1,800 in additional funding per student per year. This increased funding supports all of our students!

Please complete a Meal Application today — apply online or download a print application. You will need your student’s ID to submit an online application; no ID is needed for the print application — just turn it into your school office.

If you qualify, the price for your meals will be FREE. **Beginning Oct. 15, Da Vinci will waive all meal costs for reduced students.**

Please note: Your qualification for free/reduced meals is NOT tied to your assets or overall annual income. Rather, it is based on your estimated income at the time that the application is submitted, so you may qualify if you are in between jobs, etc.

Meal applications submitted after the State deadline (early November) results in no additional funds for Da Vinci that could be used to support our academic programs.

+ Federal, local, and private grant funding is based on the number of eligible students who qualify.

+ Federal Law requires families to fill out a new application (one per household) every year. All information is strictly confidential. Applications are accepted all year long but Da Vinci does not receive additional funding after the beginning of November.

+ Da Vinci’s meal program is not associated with the Wiseburn Unified School District. You will need to fill out separate applications if you have students who attend schools in both organizations.

+ Grant and scholarship assistance (SAT/ACT and college applications fee waivers, etc.) may also be available for students who qualify for free and/or reduced-price meals.

+ If the student receives Medicaid benefits, he/she is eligible for free/reduced pricing.

+ For full price students, all meals must be paid in advance. Overdue balances must be paid immediately. As of this school year, a $30 negative balance will be the limit and your account may be interrupted. You can deposit money at any time at MyMealTime.com or go to any of our school offices and pay by credit card, check or cash.

For more information, please visit our Meals webpage.
