SAVE THE DATE–Upcoming FAFSA Workshops for Seniors (Class of 2016)

Seniors and parents–If your student has applied to a four year college and you would like to receive any money for college (financial aid, grants, Cal Grant, etc.), you must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Why file the FAFSA?

  • Colleges require that the FAFSA is filed by mid February and for the Cal Grant it must be filed no later than March 1, 2016.
  • The earlier you file, the higher your chances of getting the most amount of financial aid and assistance.
  • Even if you think that you don’t qualify for financial assistance, many colleges will not grant ‘merit’ or ‘academic’ scholarship money until they know that you do not qualify for need based financial aid.

What to bring to the workshop:

Information needed for both Students and parents:

-Driver’s license (student and parent)

-Social Security card number if you have one (for student and parent)
-Alien registration number, if you have one
-Student 2015 income information
