CSF Application for Fall 2017 Grades

Dear DVD Families,

Congratulations on completing Semester 1. Now that your Fall 2017 grades are finalized, it’s time to apply for California Scholarship Federation (CSF) membership. CSF is “a nonprofit organization whose mission is to recognize and encourage academic achievement and community service among middle and high school students in California.” CSF is an academic honor that can be added to college applications and resumes.

Students who have above a 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply. To apply, download an application (or get an application from your counselor) and submit an application by 2/9/18 to RACHEL FUSCO, CSF Advisor.

For students who want help with their application, we will be hosting a CSF Application Workshops for students during their Advisory classes on 2/7/18 and 2/8/18.

Warning: Potential Cal Grant Phone Call Scam

Dear Families,

It has been brought to our attention that a student was notified via phone that they were awarded a Cal Grant. The student was directed to call another number and provide more information. Please note that this is NOT how the Cal Grant Awards are distributed to students. If you have any questions, please review the information provided from the California Student Aid Commission website:

“If you qualify [for a Cal Grant], you’ll receive an email or letter notification to complete the online Cal Grant C Supplement in Web Grants for Students by the deadline. Even though a GPA is not required to apply for a Cal Grant C, you’re still encouraged to submit yours because it can only help your chances of receiving an award.”
