Interested in scholarship money? KidGuard Education is offering multiple essay scholarships ranging from $500-$1,000 for students at Da Vinci Schools!

This scholarship will now be an annual opportunity. The deadline is every year on Oct. 31.
This annual scholarship is provided to all students and can be used towards any education-related expenses (tuition, books, stationary etc).

Dear 9th, 10th, and 11th grade DVD students,
You’re invited to Ryman Art’s Application Day on Saturday, May 5th at Cal State University, Fullerton!
Ryman Art’s is an art organization based in Los Angeles that offers intensive studio art instruction, college and career guidance, art supplies, and support services—all at no cost to the student. In the past, many DVD students have been admitted into the program.
The event will be a great opportunity to learn about the program as well as participate in a drawing workshop hosted by Ryman Art’s faculty. This free workshop is for current 8th – 11th grade students. Students can used the drawings created on that day for their application to the program. This event is a great way for students, families and educators to get a feeling for what Ryman Arts is really like.
This workshop is free and suitable for all skill levels, all supplies and materials are provided. Students can choose between a morning (9:00 am – 12:30 pm) or afternoon (1:00 pm – 4:30 pm) session. To sign up students must email their name, session time, grade and high school name to firstname.lastname@example.org.
There’s still plenty of space available for signups! Students or educators can drop off any applications on that day without participating in the event. It is our pleasure to announce that we will host a financial aid informational workshop presented by Stephanie Hancock the CollegeAidLady on
May 15, 2018 @ 4:30pm.
The workshop will take place in the Black Box Theatre on the first floor of Da Vinci High School. All 11th grade parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend to learn about the financial aid process. This informative presentation will allow you to begin thinking now about answers to “how do we pay for college” before the process begins in the fall. Dear DVD Students,
You are invited to attend the Reaction Research Society’s 75th Anniversary Rocket and Space Symposium on April 21st from 9:00 to 5:00 pm. There will be exhibits and presentations about topics such as engineering and STEM education. This is a great opportunity for students interested in science and engineering.

DVD Seniors going to the El Camino College field trip tomorrow, March 29th:

Thank you to everyone who participated in March College Madness, March 12-23! The DVD Marching Band kicked everything off with college fight songs during lunch. Congrats to Seshah Eshete and Kamille Perry for winning the DVD boys vs girls 3 point basketball shootout. Congrats to Cari Werz’s 9th grade advisory for winning the college door decorating contest—pizza is on the way!
Honorable mention to all who wore college apparel on the designated day. Students were engaged as they sat in on presentations from UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television Department of Theater, Sci Arc and the ArtCenter of Pasadena.
The DVD Counseling Team took 9th, 10th and 11th grade students to visit UCs, Cal States, and the Claremont McKenna Colleges (rain or shine)—-we thank teachers and academic coaches for helping us.
And, lastly we ended the two weeks of activities with DVD alumni talking with students about their college experiences. Here are some pictures for your viewing enjoyment!

Starting this week and up to March 23rd, Da Vinci Design is celebrating March Madness! These next couple of weeks will be filled with exciting activities that provide necessary information regarding college, with guest speakers and other college prep activities.
Throughout this time, students will also be attending field trips to college campuses to expose them to life on a college campus. See below for more information on activities, including dates:

LMU’s Pre-College Summer Programs are open to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors and offer college credit courses. This program provides students with an opportunity to learn more about life in college and better prepare for college level course work. Programs vary from screenwriting classes to history and science courses.

Interested in the music industry? Apply to Grammy Camp by March 31st!
GRAMMY Camp is a 5-day nonresidential summer music industry program for high school students interested in having a career in music. Hosted on the campus of USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, students from across the country apply for one of the eight offered career tracks. GRAMMY Camp faculty of music professionals as well as guest industry professionals provide valuable insight to give the campers the best chance at achieving success in their chosen career.
