El Camino College financial aid representatives will be on campus assisting families with filling out the FAFSA. Come and leave having submitted your FAFSA!
When: December 11th from 5:00pm-6:30pm
Where: DVD – Patrick’s room (4107)
In order to fully submit the FAFSA, you must apply for an FSA ID first, and will need it to clear with the government. You can do that now at: https://fsaid.ed.gov and come to the workshop with this information and the FSA ID cleared.
Please arrive by 5:00 in order to get the most help and submit it by 6:30pm.
- 2016 tax returns, W2, and record of money earned
- Bring your and your student’s social security number
St. Margaret’s Center is looking for volunteers for their annual Christmas Program that will take place on Saturday, December 16th at Lennox Middle School.
They are looking for volunteers the following days:
WHEN? December 13th, 14th, and 15th: 10am – 6pm (partial days okay) or Dec. 16th(Christmas Program): 3 shifts available 1) 8:30am-1:30pm, 2) 1:00pm – 6:00pm, 3) clean up only; 5:00pm-8:00pm

WHAT? Help with the following:
- Sorting toys
- Preparing goody bags
- Helping with set up

Dear Da Vinci Design Junior Families and Students,
From the end of November and through December, college counselors will be holding small family meetings with junior families and students from their caseloads. In these meetings, counselors will discuss:
- How to build your college list
- Scholarship Opportunities
- College entrance exams (SAT/ACT) and test prep
- What to expect for 12th grade
- Summer Experiences
- Important college admission requirements
- What to expect for life after high school
- And much more! Individual questions will also be answered during this time
Families, sign-up to meet with your counselor via the provided link (make sure to sign up with your student’s appropriate college counselor) It is expected that all students sign up for a family meeting.

Designers, what a wonderful first few days at the new campus! Thank you for keeping it so clean and learning alongside us as we transition to our new home.
Week 13 brings our fall Exhibition and we are so excited to see all of your amazing work in our new space! This is the last week of school before your Thanksgiving break. Students and parents will be able to check out the other floors on campus during Exhibition night.
Seniors have their DTLA Urban Hike field trip on Friday 11/17. Riordan SBI applications for 9th and 10th graders are also due on Friday 11/17 (see previous post for more details).
9th & 10th Graders,
The Riordan Programs’ Saturday Business Institute will be accepting applications for their program. SBI provides first-year high school students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and begin to navigate the college application process.
The program includes:
- Four Saturday sessions at the school site
- College Action Plan and financial aid counseling
- Professional development workshops, including essay writing, resume writing, interviewing techniques, public speaking
- Career exploration workshops
Applications will be available in the Counseling Corner and will be due Friday, Nov. 17th. Please return completed application in the drop box also located in the Counseling Corner.
