Fall 2016 CSF Applications

  • Based on Fall 2016 semester grades (report card or transcript MUST be attached to application)
  • Lunch meeting 2/8 in Ms. Jones room (205) for students needing assistance filling out the application

10th graders – Family College Meetings begin this week! Make sure to sign up for a time slot with your counselor HERE.

There are no school-wide or special events this week. Support your DV Wolves sports teams in their final games.

WHAT: Regional Admissions Counselors of California (RACC) will be hosting a College Fair for ALL DV School’s students and families

WHEN: Wednesday January 25th 6pm-7:30pm

WHERE: Dana Middle School’s Multi-Purpose Room; 5504 W. 135th St. Hawthorne CA 90250; just east of DV Science campus

REMINDER—-Sophomore Families: Sign Up for your Family Meeting with the College Counselors

Dear Da Vinci Design Sophomore Families,

Continuing throughout the month of February, counselors will be holding small group family meetings with sophomore families and students from their caseloads. It is expected that all sophomore families sign-up for a time and attend these meetings.

There are still time slots available–Don’t forget to sign up in order to receive important information for junior year!

In these meetings, counselors will discuss:

  • Preparing for Junior Year
  • How to build your college list
  • College entrance exams
  • Naviance Family Connection
  • Different College systems
  • Important college admission requirements
  • And much more! Individual questions will also be answered during this time.

Week 20 Update: RACC College Fair, Ivy Prep Parent Night and more…

Designers, don’t miss the RACC College Fair on Wednesday 1/25 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Dana. There will be 50 out-of-state colleges present for you to engage with!

Parents of 9th and 11th graders, there is a parent night hosted by Ivy Prep on Thursday 1/26 in Room 102 to provide a more in-depth overview of Practice ACT test results from this week.

Also, don’t forget about the open house at the new DV high school building tomorrow from 10-2 at 201 N. Douglas. All are welcome!

REMINDER-Riordan SBI meeting –Saturday, January 21 from 9am-1pm

Riordan SBI Students,

This is a reminder (you should already have it on your calendars) that there is a Riordan SBI meeting THIS Saturday from 9am to 1pm.  For this meeting only, it will be held on the Communications campus. Please have your parents drop you off in the back gate near Communications and Ms. Brittany Goodacre, Communications Counselor will be there to open the gate for you.  Class will be held in Mr. Adam Eynon’s classroom–there will be signs to direct you there.

Your mentors are looking forward to seeing you.

They will providing you with some snacks, but you want to be sure to eat a good breakfast. You may also want to bring something additional of your own to eat and/or drink with you as there will be a short break time when you will be allowed to eat.

Practice ACT Results and ACT Prep Class Opportunity

In the fall, DVD 10th graders took a practice ACT exam and today, DVD 9th and 11th graders did the same.

All practice ACT test results will be distributed in the following ways:

  • Grade 9 – Parent Night on Thursday, 1/26 from 5 pm – 6 pm
  • Grade 10 – During small group family meetings set up by the counselors (beginning early February)
  • Grade 11 – Parent Night on Thursday, 1/26 from 5 pm – 6 pm

If families are unable to attend these meetings, the test results will be passed out by counselors or Advisory teachers during school at a later date.
